Sprinkler repair

Low sprinkler pressure in one zone?

Usually clogged nozzles or filters, a valve that isn’t opening fully, or too many heads on one zone.

Check this first

  1. Clean the nozzles: unscrew each nozzle, remove the filter and rinse both (Rain Bird).
  2. Open the flow control. Make sure the valve’s flow control is set properly, if your valve has one (Hunter).
  3. Clear the solenoid ports. Debris there can keep a valve from opening fully (Hunter).
  4. Too many heads? Rain Bird lists reducing the number of sprays per zone (valve) as the fix for insufficient flow (Rain Bird). That means splitting the zone with another valve: see adding a zone.
